Google Games

  • Recruited students for Google Games.
  • Marketed Google Games to SFU students through email and self-created advertisements.

Computing Science Student Society Froshweek

  • Organized all aspects pertaining to CSSS’s FroshWeek (Computing Science introduction week for all new CS students).
  • Obtained sponsorship from companies, recruited volunteers, advertised, logistics, and organized all events.
  • Maintained a website for FroshWeek. You can check it out here.
  • The event resulted in a large increase in attendance to CS Student Society related meetings and recruited a first year CS student as an Executive Member of the CS Student Society

Northwest Technology Conference for Undergrads (NTCU)

  • Planned and prepared meetings for NTCU.
  • Provided logistical help, as well as provided assistance in running the conference.

EA Sports World

Role: Software Engineer

Tools: Ruby, PHP, Perl, SQL

Description: Developed software on the Operations team with various languages, i.e. Bash, Perl, Ruby, and Java for the EA SportsWorld next generation online platform. Implemented and maintained monitoring software across multiple environments which includes hundreds of different Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers. Provided quality assurance for in-game/web features and support for various teams, i.e. NHL, NBA, Madden, SportsWorld to ensure stability and maintainability for development, certification, and production environments.

Description: Community blog created my myself, Horatiu Halmaghi, and Jesse Paris. We came up with the idea of having a website dedicated to as much randomness as we possibly could, providing random pictures, quotes, and blog entries. We have a decent size of fairly smart (and funny) contributors who add their own aspects and comments to the site, and all of that together is what makes holyRandom.com what it is.
