Is Apple intentionally killing the Macbook Pro 13 inch line?

Is Apple inten­tion­ally killing the Mac­book Pro 13 Inch Line? I would say yes, and I don’t blame them, it makes a lot of sense. I think a lot of peo­ple want the form fac­tor of a 13″, but were okay with hav­ing it a lit­tle thicker. But notice that the lat­est Mac­book Air (13 inch) line has a higher res­o­lu­tion screen then the same size screen on the Mac­book Pro? No doubt in my mind that it was inten­tional — it forces me to con­sider the Air or 15″ Pro as my only options..

And they’ve suc­ceeded! I’ve decided to go with the Air over the Pro. It may cost more because of its form fac­tor, but if you start using a lap­top that weights almost noth­ing, you’ll real­ize what the big fuss is about. I was def­i­nitely not a believer — I lugged around my 2007 15″ Mac­book Pro back­pack­ing Europe for 6 months! Any­one who com­plains is a wuss! But right after it broke I bor­rowed my bosses spare Mac­book Air, and wow was it ever con­ve­nient. The 15″ Pro may have just came out with a beast of a sys­tem recently, but for what I need it for, does it really mat­ter? I use it for brows­ing, casual gam­ing, look­ing at pho­tos with the OCCASIONAL pho­to­shop, and for cod­ing. But the extent of my code is gen­er­ally web or appli­ca­tion, noth­ing math­e­mat­i­cally heavy (at least at the moment). I’m really happy with my choice of the Air, I do like to do a lot of trav­el­ling, this thing will be per­fect. Will be pick­ing it up tomor­row, buy­ing the top con­fig­u­ra­tion used for $1600 CAD, sav­ing me about $400. Will post pics =D
Whoa, totally went off topic. Is Apple killing the 13″ Pro? Yes. Opinions?

Simple Hadoop Overview

Recently I wrote a paper doing a high level intro­duc­tion on Hadoop. I had a friend who said he actu­ally learned some­thing from one pass through, which was great because I felt like I had to read other Hadoop tuto­ri­als on the net a few times before fully under­stand­ing. Here is mine, I hope you enjoy!

…Hmmm, for­mat­ting it on here is pretty annoy­ing and I’m short of time study­ing for an inter­view right now, I will post my PDF on here and when I have time I’ll come back and make it a nicely for­mat­ted blog post.
