Laundry Failure

Here’s the backstory: I still live at home, and thus, I’ve never really done laundry before. My mom taught me how, and so I figured I would be good.

Too bad the Czech washing machines are confusing as fuck. So, Hora and I went downstairs to do the laundry today, we figured we were all set to go, we had the room booked, we bought detergent, and softener, nothing could stand in the way of us cleaning a weeks worth of clothes. But when we got there, we had no idea what the hell we were doing. We ended up putting our clothes into 3 different machines, and let it wash for a while. When we came back, two of them were done, but there was one that was still spinning. We figured, lets stop it, it should be almost done like the other ones are done! Bad idea. Opened the machine, and all the clothes were still soapy, and the water was steaming hot. We were pretty confused, so we decided to just throw those clothes into the machine we knew how to work. In the process, we managed to semi-burn ourselves, and completely soak the ground below us. We then threw out finished clothes from the other two machines into the other washing machine into two of the dryers, and came back later. When we got back, those clothes were finally washed, and the drying was almost done, but they were slightly still damp, but every time we tryed turning it back on for more drying, the machine shut off after a minute, it was like the machine was trying to say “Fuck you, its dry enough”. Luckly the other one was dry, and we just took everything out, took all the clothes from the washing machine and put them into the dryer, and now, we are waiting. It will be done at about 6:30, we started at about 2:30, so it took us a grand total of 4 hours to do this. I’m pretty sure it shouldn’t have taken that long, but what the hell do I know, I’m a big clothes cleaning n00b.

Also, on an unrelated note, all the exchange students have finally arrived. Most of them are pretty cool, yesterday we went out drinking and ended up at a club, and the club was pretty wicked. The only shitty part of the night is that I lost my coat check pass, and so, now I’m missing my warmest jacket, and I have to phone the club tomorrow to see if I can find it… Oh well, I’ll get it eventually.

I’ll post some pictures later, for now, I’m too lazy. Here are some albums I’ve put up since I last posted:

Forgot to warn you about that.

Their shit _EATS_ clothes. Buy a drying rack and skip out on the dryers unless you like giant brown spots on your stuff.

  • Josh Says:

Yeah, also put everything into one machine and on cold water then you are good to go. Drying via air also makes your clothes last longer than if you dried them in the machine.

haha damn. I learned how to wash my clothes @ work while working at the pool.

lmao first time i was infront of a washing machine I was like “wtf am I donig?!?!”

luckily there was a little label on the right of the washing machine saying

for all those that have had their parents wash their clothes for them their whole lives, follow these steps.…”
